Health is based on a hierarchy of basic needs, starting with the Spirit, or inner body, and ending with the physical body. In order for health to be able to be present at any one level, the lower levels must be balanced and healthy. Health is not merely the absence of disease, but a state of spiritual, mental, emotional and physical well-being. Hippocrates, the father of medicine, considered health to be a natural state that could be lost through forsaking a balanced lifestyle. He preached the need to be in harmony with nature. Hippocrates’ basic principles were:

Seven Steps To Healing

The Cause of Disease Based on an Alternative Medicine Approach

All disease is characterized by three processes:

  1. Excretion of toxins
  2. Deposition of toxins

  3. Degeneration by toxins

Health is like a bridge.  Optimal health is the center line.  Suboptimal health falls between
the center line and the edge. Disease is falling off the bridge.  The closer to the edge, the more damage there is to the enzyme systems and natural defenses in the body, and the more
toxins are accumulated in the body.

Bacteria, viruses, and other parasites are merely opportunistic inhabitants in a diseased environment.  They are not the cause of disease, but the result.

Disease today is caused by several factors:

  1. Absence of the proper microbacterial flora that supports a healthy body.
  2. Toxins
       a.Autointoxication
          i.Stress
          ii.Inadequate nutrition
          iii.Failure to excrete
b.Heterointoxication (poisoning from outside the body)
          i.Pollutions
          ii.Drugs
          iii.Food additives
       c.Loss of qi
d.Autoimmune responses to toxins inside, on, or surrounding the cells.

Think of the body as an aquarium, an ecosystem in balance.  Think of what would happen to an aquarium if the filtration system stopped working.  That is what is happening in the body when diseases express themselves.

The seven steps of healing is a treatment that can effect the reversal of the disease process and bring the person back to a state of health, back to the center line of the bridge, through cleaning up the filtration system of the aquarium or body.

Step 1 — Identify & Eliminate Environmental Toxicity

  1. Drink only pure, alkaline water.
First, you have to clean up the water you drink.  Tap water is full of toxins.   The chlorine kills the good bacteria.  Drugs, hormones, chemical wastes are all found in tap water at increasing levels.  Inorganic minerals are present, but not absorbable by the body.  The fewer particles in the water you drink, the easier it is for the body to remove toxins from your cells. Distilled water is dead instead of living because of the heating process.  Many bottled waters are simply someone else’s tap water.  Also, drinking out of plastic bottles should be avoided because of the toxins from the plastic.

The best water is produced by reverse osmosis by your own home system.  The toxins in tap water are also damaging to your skin, one of the majr organs of toxin absorption.  A total home reverse osmosis system is the healthiest for you, but we must also be considerate of the planet as a whole.  It takes 3 gallons of regular water to produce 1 gallon of pure water.  So that is a lot of water “down the drain”.  If economically feasible, a person could put a small unit on showers and sinks, thus protecting the body, but allow toilets to run regular water.

If your shower/tub is not reverse osmosis, be sure to limit your showers.  One to two times per week, less than 5 minutes, and using soap only where absolutely necessary will reduce exposure to toxins and prevent the killing of the good bacteria on your skin.

  2. Eliminate use of antiperspirants.
Antiperspirants contain aluminum.  Aluminum is a heavy metal that is associated with neurological disorders and dementia.  If you have body odor, it is evidence of the bad bacteria, yeasts living in and on the body, and an acidic environment.  Use HMF and proper nutrition instead of masking the symptom.
  3. Eliminate plastic utensils from your kitchen.
Do not store food in plastic.  Do not buy meats wrapped in plastic.  Do not drink from Styrofoam cups.  Especially do not microwave in plastic.  Eliminate microwaving all together because the food’s molecular structure is changed.
  4. Avoid all conventional skin products and household cleansers.
Fibromyalgia, the marker disease of toxicity, is often characterized by certain behaviors.  In the majority of cases, a lady with fibromyalgia has every skin product possible on her bathroom counter and is a “clean freak”, always scrubbing everything in the house with some type of cleaner.  Avoid the room deodorizers that vaporize.  The olfactory (smelling) nerves are a straight link to the brain.

Step 2 — Identify blockages to self-healing

The most common blockage to healing is scars.  Scars can be visible or invisible.  The only way to eliminate scars is by energetic medicine such as auricular or acupuncture.  If you do everything possible to heal through the other steps and find yourself not healing, there is probably a scar-causing blockage.

Conventional medicine will often perform surgeries that are really unnecessary for problems that can be fixed using alternative methods.  All surgeries can create a scar that will block healing.  Therefore, the person concerned with maintaining optimal health should examine the reasons and need for surgery.

Step 3 — Open emunctories

Primary emunctories (organs that remove toxins)

  1. Liver (most important)
  2. Kidneys (second most important)
  3. Intestines
  4. Lungs

Secondary emunctories

  1. Skin
  2. Mucous membranes

Step 4 — Remove the Toxins

Cleansing is the removal of toxins naturally, using the body’s only cleansing mechanisms to remove the toxins.  Detoxification is a term frequently used, but is different from cleansing.  Detoxification forces the body to remove substances.  Often more is removed than the body can tolerate.  Often substances are removed in the process that the body needs.  With detoxification there is often a “healing crisis” where the person feels tired or has other side effects to the detoxification process.  Cleansing is a slower, almost unnoticeable process where healing crises are usually avoided.  There can, however, be side effects to cleansing.  However, if any of the side effects are processes of elimination such as skin rash, diarrhea, or phlegm production, do not suppress the elimination.  It was probably a suppression of elimination that set up the chronic disease you are now trying to treat.  To heal, the body must work backwards in time, and recreate the problems that were first experienced in the formation of the disease.

Toxins are best removed by homeopathic remedies specific for the condition or person and are identified by the miasm, constitutional type, and temperament.  This requires a practitioner with knowledge of terrain homeopathy

In the US however, we have become so toxic that it might help to start with select herbals such as Ichol or Ichol Plus and Saw Palmetto Plus to effect a change before beginning homeopathics.

Step 5 — Restore the enzyme systems
Restoring the enzyme systems requires good nutrition.  However, with the commercial farming and poor eating practices of most Americans, there is a lot missing from our diet.  To replace nutrients lacking in the standard diet, the concerned person can do the following:

  1. Eat organic.  The best vegetables are grown on healthy soil without chemicals such as fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides.   Organic fruits and vegetables might not look as “pretty” as those commercially grown, but beauty is as beauty does.  Organic fruits and vegetables might be exposed to insects and other threats.  Threats cause them stress.  Stress causes them to produce good eicosanoids.  Good eicosanoids are needed in your body to fight stress.  So eating fruits and vegetables with healthy signs of stress is actually more healthy for you than the bright, shiny, smooth-skined commercial foods that have never been stressed.
  2. Eat home grown or small farm grown.  A lot of trace elements are missing from our diet.  This is because commercial farms continue to use the same land over and over.  Eventually the soil is depleted of trace elements usually found in the food.
  3. Eat raw foods with every meal.  Raw foods contain enzymes to help with digestion.  When all of your foods are cooked or processed, the pancreas must then make the enzymes necessary for digestion.  Over the course of time, our pancreases have tripled in size to accommodate for the amounts of enzymes that have to be made to digest our food.  If you eat raw foods, the enzymes are present in the food, and less enzymes have to be made.  If you don’t eat something raw with a meal, then use Bioenzymes, Bromelain Papain+, or Digest Plus.

  4. Toxins in the body often block or damage the enzyme systems.  Inadequate nutrition often causes deficiencies of trace elements needed for proper enzyme function.  Based on the person’s constitutional type and disease process, specific trace elements or organ support formulas can repair the damage.  This additional evaluation needs to be done by a trained homeopathic/naturopathic physician.

Step 6 — Remove the dysbiosis

Dysbiosis is the presence in the body of the wrong parasites.  This includes bacteria, yeasts and viruses.  The real problem with dysbiosis is the environment that supports the parasites.  That is why the environment must be corrected first.  Then the correct organisms can live.  The correct organisms are Lactobacillus acidophyllus and bifidus.  The best replacement preparation is HMF, a human strain of these organisms, produced by Genestra.

There are many products now being sold containing Lactobacillus.  You can also buy Lactobacillus at many conventional stores.  However, many of the products you might be buying are not very effective for the following reasons:

  1. If you buy Lactobacillus off the shelf, it is probably dead.  Lactobacilli are bacteria.  At room temperature they will live their life span, and die.  Generally sitting at room temperature will decrease the live bacteria in the product to a negligible amount by the time it is purchased.  Solution: only buy refridgerated Lactobacillus.
  2. Lactobacillus in yogurt is from cows. Cows produce lactobacillus in the milk for the calves.  Veterinarians know that lactobacillus is species specific—that is, horse works in horse, dog works in dog, and cow works in cow.  So why do we think cow will work in humans?  Because this is alternative knowledge, and conventional doctors are not aware of the differences.  Yes, there can be some benefit from the lactobacillus in yogurt if you eat it continuously.  But it will not colonize in the humans to continue propagation on its own.
  3. The amounts of lactobacillus in standard preparations are very small.  Also, if produced in the USA, the claims on amounts do not have to be assayed and proven.  Products made in Europe have to be tested, assayed, and true to their claims.  HMF is measured in billions of organisms per dose, not the typical thousands.
  4. To assist the HMF in colonizing the GI tract, you should also drink organic apple cider vinegar with each meal.  Take 1 teaspoon in an 8 oz glass of reverse osmosis water and drink 15 minutes before each meal.  This will also treat GERD.  Patient experience has been generally the absence of GERD symptoms within the first month of treatment.
  5. Remember that chlorine in tap water will kill the lactobacillus and other necessary good bacteria living in your GI tract.

Step 7 — Tonify Qi

Qi is the vital energy which makes up the universe.  Qi is also the vital energy in the body.  When stress occurs, qi is expended.  When the qi is not restored or when the stress is continuous, the person can become deficient.  When there is a deficiency of qi, the immune system cannot be revitalized and disease is eminent.  Regular qigong is essential to a healthy system.  Energy, or qi, can flow from one person to another.  Health professionals are often deficient in qi because their patients continuously rob them of their qi.  If they do not actively do something to restore their qi, they can become more susceptible to disease processes such as fibromyalgia and other autoimmune disorders, as well as immune system disorders.

Different people restore their qi in different manners.  For some, it is exercise.  For others, sports.  Or it could be reading, prayer, meditation, or simply rest.  Actively opening your mind to the restoration of qi can speed healing.

Qigong, or the study of qi through mindful exercise, is a tremendous way to speed healing.  Patients who have done daily qigong have healed from chronic diseases in one-third the time it would ordinarily take without doing qigong.  Laying on of hands is a form of qigong where the energy from one person transfers to another, allowing that person’s immune system and healing processes to be buffered.

Principles of Healing

Stop contaminating the body,
Start eliminating the contamination
Go natural, not artificial

Antibiotic means “against life”—take it literally
Probiotic means “for life”

The body knows best—Listen to it

Restore your qi regularly

Get in touch with your spirit
Ego is the antithesis of spirit

Stress is the root of all disease
Treat disease at the first stage
--eliminate stress
--eliminate acid

Medical Disclaimer:
The information presented here is not conventional thought.  It is not meant to take the place of your regular physician.  No experiments have been done to establish the validity of this treatment.    Keep in mind, conventional treatment suppresses expression of toxicity.  With the release of toxins, healing can produce some slightly undesirable reactions. Given the chance, the body will always work toward healing.

Spirit

The spirit is the vital essence, the life force, the inner self.  The Spirit is represented by the passenger in the carriage.  The Spirit tells the driver where he wants to go.

The deepest healing comes with a reconnection to the Spirit.

“That there is consciousness beyond the ego-dominated field of awareness we generally inhabit is a core principle that links together all the pieces of the holistic puzzle and brings into play the matter of Spirit.  By reaching deep enough to catch that essential thread, we can reweave the many into one and complete the reconnection that heals each individual as well as the planet.” Robert Ballentine, M.D.  Radical Healing

Mind

The mind is the driver of the carriage. He protects the spirit (passenger). It is because of the mind that we are often unable to reach the spirit (inner self). Defense mechanisms have been built since infancy to envelope and protect the spirit, like layers of an onion. It is through exercising the mind that healing can take place, peeling the layers of the onion away until connection with the spirit can be obtained.

Energy

Energy medicine is an area that conventional medicine doesn't recognize. Conventional medicine is stuck on the biochemical effects of a pill. Energy medicine works much faster and goes much deeper. One form of energy medicine is homeopathy. Homeopathic remedies must be determined correctly for the person, or they will not be effective. The science of homeopathy is more intricate than the entire world of conventional medicine.

Replenishing one's energy is also important in order for energy medicine to work. Without the track, the train can't run. Qigong is a form of exercise that replenishes your internal energy. Yoga does this too. The best way to learn Qigong or Yoga is through a class. If one is not available, however, I recommend Sheng Zhen Wuji Yuan Gong by Master Li Jun Feng. Master Li was China's Olympic Marshall Arts coach until he received this form of Qigong as a divine message. Since then he has been promoting it worldwide. He is also now located in the US, teaching at the University of Texas at Austin.

Balance

Keeping things in balance is important for health. Maintain a routine. Wake up and go to bed the same time every day, even on days off. Have meals at the same time. The body is in a rhythm. Hormones rise and fall like the tide. When you don't the same schedule all the time, this causes stress which imbalances your hormones.

The three basic hormone systems are

  1. Adrenals
  2. Sex Hormones
  3. Thyroid

When one is stressed and out of balance, the other two change their activity to try to make up for the deficit. It's like a three legged stool. If one leg gets shorter, the other two try to adapt for balance.

Nutrition

“If you have a good diet, of what use is a doctor? And if you don’t have a good diet, of what use is a doctor?”

Nutrition is very important to one's health. Cooked food has lost most of it's nutrition. Processed food is mostly empty calories. A great majority of food eaten in America is acidic. Toxins are trapped in the body when it is acidic. This causes a lot of stress which eventually creates inflammation which causes most of our chronic diseases. Our American diet is unhealthy, and we need to make it a priority to change it.

First and foremost, our diet needs to be alkaline and antiinflammatory. These dietary recommendations are an excellent beginning diet for patients who are beginning detoxification. Patients who are committed to the changes can have dramatic results in just a few weeks.

Fitness

Regular exercise is an important part of good health. Exercise helps burn toxins through raising body temperature. It also helps maintain the proper body fat / protein ratio by stimulating muscle development and burning fat.

Exercise should be alternated between aerobic and resistance types. Doing the same exercise every day can cause wear and tear on muscles and joints. Giving a day for each area used to recuperate, accented with the use of homeopathic Arnica Montana, allows healing to take place quicker.

For easy aerobic exercise that can be done in the home, and even transported easily is the Rebounder. Rebounders can be purchased in local sporting goods shops, or even Wal-Mart. However, the quality is quite variable. One might want to purchase a cheaper rebounder first to make sure that it will be used, and not just become another exercise floor ornament. Later, one can upgrade if more lasting quality is a requirement.

Healthy Water

Do you feel tired, have poor concentration or headaches?  Do you eat meat, dairy products or drink alcohol?  Do you have wrinkles or age spots showing signs of aging?  Are you constipated?  Changing your water intake can change your health in many ways.  75% of the people in North America are chronically dehydrated.

Unhealthy foods, dehydration, pollution, and stress all contribute to increased acidity in your body, which creates an imbalance with your body's acid alkaline system. This can consequently lead to a poor immune system, obesity, and pre-mature aging. The cells that make up our bodies are supposed to be naturally alkaline, but outside factors like those mentioned above are constantly at war with your body's attempt to maintain a balanced pH level.  The US is the biggest consumer of bottled water in the world with 7 billion gallons ( 26 billion liters) consumed annually.  Bottled water can be acidic.Treated tap water is full of toxins. Well water is full of inorganic minerals that are not absorbed. Distilled water lacks the "life force". The best water to drink is reverse osmosis water.

Body

The last stage in the hierarchy is the physical structure we call the body. It is represented by the physical carriage in the picture. This is the part that western physicians and technology work on the most, delegating the other six levels to lower importance. But, in actuality, it is the least important. If the other six levels are attended to and are healthy, the body will be healthy.
